About Our Owner

Elisha Millan, Founder and Owner

Elisha Millan is a Chattanooga native and the founder of Grass Roots. In 2009, after working for many years in a corporate environment, her health deteriorated to a point that left her house-bound. Refusing narcotic medications meant severe pain and limited ability to perform activities of daily living. Elisha began intermittently using hemp in 2016, when her mother brought her a packet of Hemp Bombs capsules from a trade show.

“For the first time in years, I got a good night of sleep and woke up feeling refreshed,” Elisha says. “It’s amazing what that can do for you.”

As Elisha gradually began to take more hemp and continued noticing how the combination of reduced inflammation and better sleep positively impacted her ability to regain some normalcy in her life, she decided it was time to learn all she could about CBD and share it with others.

“I have a really strong guilt complex,” Elisha laughs. “If this product was helping me this much, I had to share it with other people who could benefit from it as well.”

Elisha opened Grass Roots Health in Chattanooga, Tenn., in 2017, and has since opened a second store in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. In addition to her stores, Elisha operates Fund 129, a foundation from which she contributes proceeds from her stores to organizations that seek to promote healthcare research, hemp-as-healthcare advocacy efforts, and opiate recovery programs.
